This significant achievement not only marks Huipu Biotech’s breakthrough in securing core independent intellectual property rights in the field of synthetic biology for marine bioactive peptides, but also blazes a new development path for the skin health industry with disruptive technology, leading the development of soothing ingredients into a new era of precision and high efficiency.

Jointly developed with Professor Hongzheng Fu's team from the Department of Pharmaceutical Sciences, Peking University, Huipu Biotech has successfully extracted three active ingredients—sea cucumber peptide, sea cucumber collagen and sea cucumber polysaccharide—via advanced bioextraction technology. As the first enterprise in China to prepare marine biological collagen peptides and collagen by synthetic biology technology, we have filled the market gap. Currently, our Chinese invention patent "HP Sea Cucumber Peptide" has been successfully applied in the fields of medical devices, functional cosmetics, functional foods and health products, achieving industrialization.
The traditional extraction of sea cucumber peptides has long been constrained by the scarcity of marine resources and the limitations of extraction processes. Jointly with the research team led by Professor Hongzheng Fu from the Department of Pharmaceutical Sciences, Peking University, Huipu Biotech has successfully identified the core peptide segments with key soothing efficacy based on an in-depth analysis of the structure-activity relationship of sea cucumber bioactive peptides. Through genetic engineering and synthetic biology technologies, we have achieved the precise reconstruction of these peptides in high-efficiency microbial expression systems such as Pichia pastoris. This technological breakthrough not only completely breaks away from the dependence on marine biological resources, but also adopts a green production method with zero animal-derived risks throughout the process, avoiding hidden dangers of marine pollution and sensitization, and establishing a new paradigm for the sustainable development of the industry.
